Il settore è giovane eppure siamo già arrivati alla seconda edizione degli Esports Industry Awards che si sono svolti nei giorni scorsi al The Brewery di Londra consegnando la bellezza di 22 premi suddivisi tra singoli operatori e società che fanno parte di questo nuovo fenomeno del gaming, del gambling e dell’intrattenimento.
E’ stato un momento molto importante per fare il punto del lavoro dell’ultimo anno e per apprezzare la crescita di un settore in grande espansione.
Il premio più importante della serata è andato a Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere, il membro più talentuoso di League of Legends che è stato accolto con un applauso estasiato degli spettatori. Il premio è ovviamente l’Esport Personality of the year ed è stato il fulcro della serata con i candidati che sono stati mostrati per tutta la serata fino ad arrivare all’annuncio attesissimo.

Il miglior giornalista di Esports, invece, è Duncan “Thorin” Shields di ESPN Esports premiato come Esports Coverage Website of the Year. Riot Games, invece, ha fatto incetta di titoli prendendosi l’Esports Publisher of the Year e anche l’Esports Live Event of the Year.
OpTcvi Gaming ha vinto invece l’Esports Team of the Year e il giocatore di Call of Duty Matthew “FormaL” Pipe, ha conquistato ben due awards: l’ Esports Play of the Year e l’Esports Console Player of the Year.
Davis “OpTic Hitch” Edwards ha vinto il premio come miglior Videographer of the Year e Intel è stato nominato come l’Hardware Provider dell’anno con G FUEL incoronato come il Commercial Partner of the Year.
